Military Resources
Military OneSource is a free service provided by the Department of Defense to service members and their families to help with a broad range of concerns including money management, spouse employment and education, parenting and child care, relocation, deployment, reunion, and the particular concerns of families with special-needs members. They can also include more complex issues like relationships, stress, and grief. Services are available 24 hours a day — by telephone with professionally trained consultants and online. Many Military OneSource staff members have military experience (veterans, spouses, Guardsmen, Reservists), and all receive ongoing training on military matters and military lifestyle. The program can be especially helpful to service members and their families who live at a distance from installations.

yesterday was so wonderful, Logan isnt even a week into bmt and he was able to call me! twice! it was so amazing to hear his voice, and he said how much he missed me and that a letter was in the mail to me and once i get his address he wants me to write him everyday, this was so nice to hear because he isnt the best at showing his emotions and him saying these things to me meant alot, i told him how proud of him i am and that letters are on the way. i was curious though of ideas for a care package...im not sure what the are allowed to recieve though! thoughts ideas ladies??? i need help :) i swear my face still hurts from smiling so much yesterday

I know during BMT you cannot send care packages. You can send letter and include pictures but keep the pictures rated G because the TI get to see them and if they are risky the guys can get in trouble. Some TI will let them keep the pictures with them, some TI will post them for the whole flight group to see and dome TI will keep the photos til graduation. So best thing is to go ahead and start writing him letters and have them ready to mail out when you get his mailing address.

DO NOT SEND PACKAGES! BIG way to get them in trouble. Wait for tech school.

I'm so glad you got to hear from him and talk to him, sounds like he might have a good TI! Like the ladies already said though, no packages until tech school. Just keep writing him tons of letters!! :)

yay for talking to him sooo soon...i didnt talk to ken until 2 weeks into his bmt...i was lucky though his TI was nice, ken got to call every sunday after that for at least 15-20 min! DONT send packages, they can get in big trouble and there TI will embarass them with it. Letters, yes...i wrote ken everyday that he was gone and he loved it...he only wrote me 5 times through the 8 weeks but he told me that he loved to get letters from me..i even sent him pictures but they were def g rated! Also, dont send any post cards or birthday cards or anything like that cause i know they will use that agaisnt them sometimes...hope you talk to him soon hun!!
