Military Resources
Military OneSource is a free service provided by the Department of Defense to service members and their families to help with a broad range of concerns including money management, spouse employment and education, parenting and child care, relocation, deployment, reunion, and the particular concerns of families with special-needs members. They can also include more complex issues like relationships, stress, and grief. Services are available 24 hours a day — by telephone with professionally trained consultants and online. Many Military OneSource staff members have military experience (veterans, spouses, Guardsmen, Reservists), and all receive ongoing training on military matters and military lifestyle. The program can be especially helpful to service members and their families who live at a distance from installations.

Hey ladies!

So I don't know if ya'll have heard or not, but since the beginning of the year, most tech schools have now done away with phases. Instead, they're now called "transitions." At Lackland, there are only two transitions, with the first transition being referred to as "initial transition" and the second transition being called "advanced transition." Unlike the phases, Airmen no longer stay in the transitions for a set period of days. Instead, they accelerate based on how well they perform in class and by passing dorm inspections. And from what I hear, advanced transition is extremely relaxed. For example, I know at Lackland once you reach advanced transition, Airmen are allowed to carry their cell phones with them while in uniform. Tyler is expected to be in advanced transition after only two weeks of tech school. =) So actually, it's really nice!

I heard about this!! This is so great :D Eddie says that he only needs one more good room inspection to transition up! They get to have off-base liberty on weekends too, correct?

Caitlin, I think it depends on the tech school though. Nick told me about the phase transition, and he is in the advanced one now since he's been there since October. The Airmen at Sheppard in avanced still have curfews on weekends and aren't allowed their phone while in uniform.
GAH! Why does every tech school have tto be diffrent? Lol! It was the same thing at basic with the TI's!
