Military Resources
Military OneSource is a free service provided by the Department of Defense to service members and their families to help with a broad range of concerns including money management, spouse employment and education, parenting and child care, relocation, deployment, reunion, and the particular concerns of families with special-needs members. They can also include more complex issues like relationships, stress, and grief. Services are available 24 hours a day — by telephone with professionally trained consultants and online. Many Military OneSource staff members have military experience (veterans, spouses, Guardsmen, Reservists), and all receive ongoing training on military matters and military lifestyle. The program can be especially helpful to service members and their families who live at a distance from installations.

Oh no! I'm sorry! The only good thing about basic beginning is you're one step closer to it being over :'(
I'm glad you get Christmas with him though!
If you need anything you can always rely on us here!
Also don't hesitate to PM me if you need to talk, I remember Basic vividly and I did not enjoy those 2 months.

My boyfriend and I are in our final weeks of BMT now.
It is hard, I won't lie.
But you CAN do it.
You have us for support.
And I encourage you to read the "Girlfriend's Guide to Surviving BMT" under the BMT/Tech School board.
It has A LOT of useful advice! =]

I agree with everything these ladies have said!
Caitlin and I's boyfriends are in the same week at Basic and it has been long and crappy at times....but I also would have never found out how strong Cody and I's relationship was and how strong I was, and I also wouldn't have met so many great girls! The support from everyone else that is going through it or has gone through it helps sooooo much!!

You can do this! And you have all of us to help!

Don't hesitate to PM me if you ever need anything!

I agree completely. my bf is starting week 5 and i can't believe i made it this far.
Without these girls i'd be losing my mind and going insane.
The first couple weeks are rough but we're all here to help ya through it and support you.
If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask. Even if you need to vent.
You can do it!!! Try to keep yourself busy. One day without is one day closer to seeing him again.
Hang in there girly. <33

I agree
It's definitely one of the hardest things i've ever had to go through and i still have 3 weeks left of BMT to go.
But it does get easier as long as you keep yourself busy, open up and let out your emotions.
At least all that has helped for me.

Hug

Ugh I'm sorry, Nick and I went to the recruiter the other day for his recruiters assistance stuff and there were people who were shipping out this week and I was like, that suuuucks so bad.
The guy who made the video about Military SO's makes videos describing BMT, those might help to see what he is doing!

don't worry... the MTI's are human too and want to be with their families. BMT is an experience but hopefully everything will be fine. Let me know if you have any questions or anything.

Aww I am so sorry! :(
BMT sucks...not even going to lie, but it is definitely something you can get through, and you WILL get through it. It's very nice to have people that understand what you are going through...& all of us (or most of us) do!! :) The time for me went very slowly...I tried to keep myself busy but even when I did, I was still thinking about him. The time that they're in basic is difficult for them as well, not just for us. I would say write as often as you can. I wrote every single day...and mailed them every single day. That was good for him because he would almost ALWAYS have a letter. I ended up getting about 60 something while he was there which was pretty amazing, but they really don't have much time to write. :( But, definitely write a lot and talk when they can call and just be strong for him because it will be difficlut on them physically and emotionally. But, you can definitely get through basic...even if it is rough, all of us are here for u!!!
